"We were impressed with knowledge of the masonry restoration process and the attention to detail shown throughout the process. This was particularly noted in the color matching of the mortar used for the brick and in the matching of the overall appearance of the repaired foundation to the original. We would highly recommend Preserve A Stone and James Kohl for his restoration work on historical buildings. The more obvious deficiencies of loose mortar and brick were addressed on all sides of the structure with care taken to match mortar appearance to the original. In addition, a missing lintel was installed, the stone foundation was tuck pointed to a depth of 12 inches below ground level and a missing chimney cap was installed. James Kohl and his associate went beyond the scope of work proposed by other contractors yet completed the job at a competitve price. The small sculpture made from the left over stone was a nice touch. The work was done in a timely and professional manner."
